Postage stamp designer Martin Frommelt

Martin Frommelt is one of Liechtenstein’s most significant living artists. After completing his art training with his uncle and mentor, Pastor Anton Frommelt, he studied at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris during the mid-1950s. Subsequently, he worked as a freelance artist first in Paris and in Schaan since 1961. Between 1959 and 2023, Martin Frommelt designed 24 Liechtenstein stamps.

Most of his sketches and original designs for the stamps as well as his unrealised projects will be on display in the special exhibition. With this retrospective on the occasion of his 90th birthday, the Liechtenstein
PostalMuseum pays tribute to Martin Frommelt as a stamp designer.
