Liechtenstein NationalMuseum Foundation

Established in 1972, the Liechtenstein National Museum Foundation is a public foundation belonging to the Principality of Liechtenstein. It is tasked with collecting, preserving and exhibiting Liechtenstein’s cultural assets as well as promoting an understanding of the country’s geography and history.

The foundation and its museums form a bridge from the past to the present and into the future. It actively participates in the discourse on topics related to Liechtenstein and thus contributes to constituting and developing Liechtenstein’s identity. The foundation and its museums are vibrant places where visitors can meet, learn and discover the country’s rich culture. They are also important places for sharing knowledge.

Governing bodies

The strategic governing body of the Liechtenstein National Museum Foundation is the Foundation Board. It determines the structures, regulations and long-term goals, and reports regularly to the responsible ministry acting as the supervisory authority.

The operational responsibility for the museums of the Liechtenstein National Museum Foundation lies with the Directorate. It coordinates its actions with the Foundation Board.

The auditor of the Liechtenstein NationalMuseum Foundation is the Financial Control Authority of the Principality of Liechtenstein
