Education at the museum

The National Museum offers a wide range of guided tours, educational programmes and workshops for groups of all ages, from children to senior citizens. These aim to give visitors the chance to discover, experience, observe and understand the exhibitions in greater detail.

Among the services on offer are a number of guided tours for adults through the permanent exhibition and the changing special exhibitions (Tuesday midday: ‘CultureBreak’; Wednesday evening: ‘After Work’; Sunday morning: ‘Matinée’). Senior citizens can benefit from the National Museum’s ‘Senioren im Landesmuseum’ offer. Groups can also book private guided tours of the permanent exhibition or the special exhibitions.

The museum offers family tours of the exhibitions and children’s workshops during the school holidays in a dedicated on-site education room.

Educational programmes and workshops adapted to different age groups are available for schoolchildren. These can be used in combination with the school curriculum.

The museum plans to expand the range of educational programmes on offer and extend them to include the Postal Museum.
